LFWF Grants Program

About the  LFWF Grant

The LFWF Grant is awarded annually in the amount of $3000.00-$5,000.00 to an individual(s) or business(es) that exemplifies the LFWF mission of connectivity and growth in local foods.


The aim of the grant is to help bridge gaps in the local food systems. We encourage interested persons involved in any of the local food sectors with to apply. 

Requirements

  1. Involvement: Please provide a cover letter including contact information. Interested persons should either currently have involvement with the local food system or plan to initiate involvement through the grant. This includes farmers and ranchers, chefs, bakers and butchers, food retailers, farmers market coordinators, community gardens, or food entrepreneurs, etc.

  2. Project Explanation Page: Explain (approx. 500-750 words) projects details. This includes:

  • project team

  • explanation of need

  • project goals

  • project time frame

Please answer why you feel this project helps foster growth both for your local food business or group.

3. Project Budget Page

Please identify how the grant will be applied. Additionally, list any materials needed for the project and approximate cost associated with each. ​

  • Grant submissions are accepted between January 1 to February 15 annually. Please include the items listed above under requirements.

Award Process

We are eager to receive your submission! if you have any questions please give a call or email us with any inquiries.

  • After the February deadline, a panel will review the applications. Following, interviews of the final 3 candidates will be conducted by the panel.

  •  Final decisions will be reached by April 1st

  • Project Report: If awarded, an in-person interim check-in will be conducted by a member of the board. A final presentation of the project achievements is due approximately a year from award date. A member of the board will work with awardee to determine the best format for reporting.
